Trabajo con Alpaca

All of our metal pieces are made with a wire metal from Peru called alpaca.  Alpaca is an alloy of zinc and nickel.  It does not rust, is non-allergenic, and has a very shiny appearance, similar to silver.  The technique of manipulating the alpaca is called filigree, and after the metal is manipulated into the desired form, it can be flattened with a hammer.  Though alpaca does not rust, it, like all metals, can get dirty with time.  Clean any of your alpaca pieces with an old toothbrush and your choice of toothpaste, a baking soda/water mixture, or lemon juice, and it will shine like new.

Todo nuestro trabajo es hecho de aplaca, un alambre Peruano.  Alpaca es una aleación de zinc y níkel.  No se oxida, no cause alergia, y es muy brillante, como plata.  La técnica de manipular alpaca se llama filigrana, y después de ser manipulado, se puede aplanarlo con un martillo.   Alpaca no se oxida, pero como todo metal, se puede ensuciar con el tiempo.  Limpie su joyería de alpaca con un cepillo viejo y o pasta de dientes, una mezcla de bicarbonato y agua, o limón, y brillará como nuevo.
